SMOOTHNESS

When accelerating to a desired velocity, the acceleration should be smooth. The cruise control should gradually increase the acceleration when engaged and gradually decrease the acceleration before hitting the desired speed.

Test: Set a speed that is substantially higher than the current velocity and measure the acceleration on a curve to tell how smooth it is. The goal is for the driver not to be able to tell when the desired speed is reached, just by his feeling.
