Description

In the data explorer in the Azure portal you can sign in to Entra, but you cannot switch directories.

In our scenario, we have a user account in a home tenant, and this account is a B2B member in other tenants. When signing into Entra in data explorer in the Azure portal it will sign into the home tenant, and then there is no option to switch directories to one of the other B2B directories.

This results in data explorer giving errors like:

> Request blocked by Auth mycosmosdb : Provided AAD token was issued by the authority [72f988bf-86f1-41af-91ab-2d7cd011d123] which is not trusted by this database account. Please ensure the token has been issued by the AAD tenant(s) [16b3c013-d300-468d-ac64-7eda0820b123].

cosmos.azure.com does have the option to switch directories. Need this same functionality in the Azure Portal.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the sign-in flow in Azure Portal Data Explorer with a home-tenant account that is a B2B member elsewhere, then compare it with directory switching on cosmos.azure.com. Done means a user can select a B2B directory in the portal and Data Explorer receives a token trusted by that database account.
