Description

The "Deploy Bicep file..." could be more useful if the What-if option is added somehow. The solution then could be documented here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-resource-manager/bicep/deploy-vscode. They are really close in the menu yet not compatible:

When we deploy something via the "Deploy Bicep file..." we are presented with several options like "Select Location", "Select a parameter file", "Select value for parameter"... so maybe one of those options could be "Preview changes?" or something like that and behind the curtains you use the What-if option.

Another solution could be to add that in the Bicep Configuration file bicepconfig.json maybe?

Research direction

Start with the VS Code "Deploy Bicep file..." entry point and the deployment guidance at the linked deploy-vscode documentation page; bicepconfig.json is also proposed as a possible configuration location. Define the user flow for selecting or enabling What-if, then document the solution and verify that the preview option works alongside the existing deployment choices.
