### Question/Query

Hello,

Could you please share if there are any particular reasons, why we need to specify 'accessPolicies' parameter for new Key Vault deployments with updated API (2026-02-01)?

My initial assumption was that with setting up RBAC access method to 'true' the 'accessPolicies' parameter will be set with the default empty list/set value.

I tried to deploy a new KV with API '2026-02-01' and got unexpected for me error - "The parameter accessPolicies is not specified. (Code:BadReques)".

Thank you!

Research direction

Start with the linked Azure Key Vault API specification and inspect the 2026-02-01 definition of the accessPolicies parameter alongside the RBAC setting. Compare the specification with the reported deployment error; this is done when the required behavior is clarified or the specification is corrected to match the service.
