Powershell runtime newer than 3.8.2 fails to import modules

Last month a new release of the Powershell function runtime broke the functionality to import Powershell modules. This is explained in these two threads on the Microsoft forums:

The suggested (temporary) solution was to pin the runtime version to 3.8.2, while a fix would be prepared according to the support moderator. The latest 3.x versions still don't solve this problem howsever. Does anyone know when we can expect this to be fixed permanently?
