Receive email read/delivery receipt

I am not sure if there is an option to track email read/delivery acknowledgment receipts when sending automatic emails. I know Outlook has a read/delivery receipt option, but it may not be available if the recipient uses an email other than Outlook. Also, I need to manually make sure the Outlook tracking is turned on. In summary, my goal is to track acknowledgment receipts and store them as data. Thanks
