Description

Description: This feature would allow users to pin a node image version when using Node Auto Provisioning.

Current experience: Currently node image version updates follow the control plane upgrades, and are force upgraded after 90-days. New node image updates are typically released weekly. Users have the option to use maintenance windows (AKS) and disruption budgets (Karpenter native) which allow time-bounded deferral and controlled rollouts (with-in the 90 day threshold).

Status: Backlog (targeted for CY 2026)
