### Description
After the dms idle screen lock triggers and puts the monitor (NEC PA322UHD) into standby mode, on waking up the monitor, the screen locker screen is visible, but often the brightness turned up to max. This is doubly odd, because I can't get the brightness slider for dms do do anything normally. Turning the monitor off and then back on is the only way I've found to get the brightness back to normal.
### Expected Behavior
Expected monitor brightness setting to be unaffected by screen locking.
### Steps to Reproduce
1. Leave computer until dms locks the screen and turns monitor off.
2. Return to computer and move the mouse. DMS screen lock screen appears, but is very bright and washed out, because monitor appears to have brightness turned up.
3. Type in password and notice brightness persists with no apparent way to turn it back down.
4. Cycle monitor off and onn. Brightness returns to normal.
### Error Messages/Logs
None
Prior to installing dms, on waking up, this monitor goes slightly brighter for roughly three seconds and displays monitor info in a hardware-OSD on the upper right corner during that time. With dms instlaled, sometimes this proceeds normally and other times, it goes to full brightness and gets stuck there, as described, and the dimming that normally occurs after the OSD is displayed never occurs.

Research direction
No source file or test is named. Start by reproducing the wake-from-lock sequence on the listed Arch Linux and MangoWC setup, then trace the DMS idle screen-lock and monitor standby brightness handling. Done means waking from the lock leaves the NEC PA322UHD brightness unchanged and does not require power-cycling the monitor.
