enex import issue

I understand that Simplenote import of Evernote doesn't support images. Many of my notes have images and it appears that the import of text after the image doesn't happen? In a note that had a title, then an image, then a bunch of text, this is what shows up in the imported note:

Chicken Saltimbocca
(application/pdf)

Reproduce the Evernote ENEX import with a note containing a title, an image, and text after the image. Inspect the import flow to determine why the imported note ends at “(application/pdf)”; done means the title and all following text are imported while the unsupported image is handled without stopping the note.
