cut/copy/paste menu covers checklist button

Hi, noob here.
When my wife sends me a shopping list on WhatsApp or whatever, it looks like this:

Apples
Milk
Eggs

etc. etc. and the list is usually taller than a single screen.
But I want it in Simplenote as a checklist, so I paste it in,
then I select the first word and drag the handle all the way down to the last word.
The problem is that as soon as I've selected every line I want to turn into a checkbox,
(and the selected text more than vertically fills the screen, remember)
the cut/copy/paste menu appears, **directly over the checklist button** on the app,
and the only way to make it go away is to deselect the text again,
putting you right back where you started.
I know this may be an Android problem, but I figured it was worth mentioning.
I'm using a OnePlus 9 with Android 13.

Reproduce the issue on Android 13 using a long pasted multiline list, select all lines, and open the text-selection menu. Inspect the editor selection behavior and checklist control placement; done means the checklist button remains usable while the text-selection menu is visible.
