App crashes inconsistently after working on notes that were once pinned

This was originally reported at 3759545-zen, and we pointed them to wait for 2.16, 2.17 in order to see if they were still seeing the problem. They followed-up on 3904934-zen commenting that the error persists on 2.18

From the user:

> I've noticed that trying to open specific notes on it will crash the app after about 5 seconds. Once it crashes, it automatically reopens, but changes made within the 5 second window will usually be lost.

> The consistency seems to be more about whether the notes were pinned at one point or not. I had pinned these notes before, and they started displaying this crashing behaviour since then, and they crash the same way even after I've unpinned them.

> It doesn't appear to happen on the desktop or web versions. The strange thing is that the crashing doesn't happen every day, but if it crashes once, it's like it triggers something and these notes will keep causing crashes for a while.

They have reinstalled the app, logged out/in, pasting the content of the note into a new note, but the error keeps happening.

### Expected
That the app does not crash when writing a note. This seems to happen only for notes that are currently pinned, or were once pinned.

### Observed

I was not able to reproduce it.

no custom ROM

Start with the supplied lifecycle and sync logs around NotesActivity, NoteEditorActivity, NoteEditorFragment, and NoteMarkdownFragment, then try to reproduce the crash with a large note that was previously pinned on Android 9. The issue is done when opening and editing such notes no longer crashes or loses edits, with a regression test or verified reproduction result documenting the behavior.
