Research direction
Start by reproducing the slideshow block in an RTL locale using the listed steps, then locate the Jetpack slideshow block implementation and its arrow-button listener. Confirm that each arrow moves the slideshow in the expected RTL direction, and verify the behavior in Chrome before and after updating the page.
