Jetpack connection errors: sending email notifications

Currently if a site is experiencing any Jetpack connection errors there may be warnings in the Site Health section of the site's dashboard, or in various other locations such as via a general dashboard notification or the WordPress.com dashboard.

This can be helpful if someone is very regularly accessing their site's dashboards, but if not it is not so easy to know if your site has a Jetpack connection issue and therefore if any of the Jetpack features are affected.

Could it be possible to opt-in to receiving email notifications when a Jetpack connection error is picked up?

Start by locating where Jetpack connection errors are detected and where existing Site Health or dashboard warnings are surfaced. Review how notification preferences and email delivery are handled in the project. Done should include a clearly defined opt-in flow that sends email when a connection error is detected.
