Carousel: poor image quality

I'm using Tiled Gallery and Carousel to display some images. Photon CDN is enabled for images.
While the images in Tiled Gallery are fine, the image shown in Carousel is blurry and low quality.

Compare for example the blurry image used by the slideshow:

#### Steps to reproduce the issue

1. Go to https://elio.blog/5-free-styles-for-capture-one/
2. right click on one of the images, open in a new tab, and check its good quality
3. back to the post. Click on one of the images to launch the Carousel, check its poor quality

#### What I expected
The image in the Carousel to have good quality, like the one in Tiled Gallery.

#### What happened instead
The image in the Carousel has low quality and almost look blurry.

Reproduce the issue on the linked post by comparing the image URL and quality in Tiled Gallery with the image loaded by Carousel while Photon CDN is enabled. Trace the Carousel image request and compare its parameters with the working Tiled Gallery request; done means Carousel displays comparable image quality without the blurry result.
