Just read this in a YouTube comment. My bet is that this will be very common among nonnative speakers and possibly not rare even among native speakers. I would classify it as a spelling error rather than a typo in both cases:
> C is genius and fast to **adopt** to any new technology
It surely happens in the other direction and in most if not all verb inflections.
