Description
Hi,
First of all, great work on Harper. The project looks extremely promising and feels like a very solid alternative to existing solutions such as Grammarly or LanguageTool, especially in terms of performance, privacy, and overall philosophy.
At the moment, Harper only supports English. I have tried to look through the documentation, the README, issues, and discussions, but I could not find clear information about the status or roadmap regarding support for other languages.
I would love to understand a few things:
- Is support for other languages (for example French, Spanish, Italian, German) planned at some point?
- Are there already people actively working on non-English language support?
- Is the core architecture considered mature enough for external contributors to realistically add new languages?
- If not planned, is this more a matter of priorities, resources, or inherent complexity?
I think it is a bit unfortunate that there is no clear, centralised information about this topic, because Harper is really exciting and could be extremely attractive to non-English users if multilingual support were on the horizon.
Thanks again for building such a great tool, and thanks in advance for any insight you can share.
Best regards,
