Description

The activation key (double control or double shift) works in Firefox (146.0.1 flatpak), but the pop-up still appears when I click on underlined text.

My understanding is that the activation key replaces the automatic pop-up. At the moment, the pop-ups are so annoying appearing every time I want to edit or select a word, I have to disable the extension.

In Ungoogled Chromium (143.0.7499.169 flatpak) the activation key has no effect at all.

Also, in Firefox the pop-up appears when I right-click on an underlined word, but it appears under Firefox's context menu. This doesn't make sense, so I am assuming it is a bug.

Research direction

The issue names no files or tests. Reproduce the activation-key and right-click behavior in Firefox and Ungoogled Chromium, then trace the browser extension's pop-up handling. Done means the activation key suppresses automatic pop-ups, works in both browsers, and right-click pop-ups do not appear beneath the context menu.
