Plugin shows that author has posts when all posts are in trash

I’m not sure if that is related to https://github.com/Automattic/Co-Authors-Plus/issues/583, but I experienced the following: After deleting all posts from an author, the plugin displays one remaining (or two on a local copy of the site) post for this user. Removing the posts from trash fixes that.

This does not happen for every user, just for one (it has the admin role, but it works for other authors with the admin role), and after fixing the behavior onece via removing the posts from trash, the issue does not appear again if I create a new post with the author and delete it.

No files, tests, or entry points are named. First reproduce the author post-count behavior with all posts in trash and compare the symptoms with issue 583; done means authors with only trashed posts no longer show remaining posts, including the reported admin case.
