Cannot import a degree 1 NURBS curve into Maya

**Describe the bug**
Creating a degree 1 NURBS curve USD file by hand, and trying to load into Maya generates a parent xform but no geometry.
There is no error message output

**Steps to reproduce**
Load attached file into Maya. Note that no geometry is displayed.

**Expected behavior**
Expect to see the curve displayed in Maya

**Attachments**
Attached a USD file containing a degree 1 NURBS curve.

**Specs (if applicable):**
- OS & version: Tested on OSX and Windows
- Maya version 2023

**Additional context**
Note related issue: https://github.com/Autodesk/maya-usd/issues/2479 - Maya cannot create degree 1 NURBS curves. That is why I had to create the example by hand.

I could not immediately see why the code might fail to read the geometry
