Volume stuck if laptop closed/dies while media playing - keeps playing noise later when opened

Might be a hardware thing, but had an instance where music/video was playing when computer last went into backpack. Pulled it out hours later and it started blaring out previous media in another milieu, with no way to stop it nor turn it down, had to use "physical" power button to force restart.

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by reproducing the laptop-close or power-loss scenario while media is playing, then inspect the system's audio and resume behavior. Done means reopening the laptop does not resume uncontrollable playback and volume remains adjustable.
