Research direction
Start by reproducing the spacing difference in Firefox Nightly 138.0a1 with the CustomCSSforFx files installed, then compare the address-bar buttons with the screenshots. Inspect the CSS under the /chrome/ folder and the relevant userChrome.css settings; done means the button gaps are consistent without changing other address-bar behavior.
