New widget can't be closed

I created a new widget and now it won't go away when I leave Advanced Mode. With Advanced mode turned off, it has no close box and it opens every time I start the app. It also opens on the wrong monitor (the original laptop screen, not the secondary monitor where APM Planner is running). If I turn Advanced Mode back on, the close box returns and I can dismiss it.

Start by reproducing the widget behavior in APM Planner with Advanced Mode enabled and disabled, including the secondary-monitor setup described in the report. Done means the widget can be dismissed when Advanced Mode is off, does not reopen on every app start, and opens on the monitor running APM Planner.
