Description

I posted the following in the ardupilot github also ---- Not sure of where applicable.

---

As more requests come in for specific use features and variations of the existing features is the core team contemplating a user API for individual vehicle/user development?

Example applications using such are: MatLab and many Stock Trading apps.

The reason: ardupilot and mission planner have a number of solid and needed core features. From these core features the user could be provided a number of programming variables organized into a graphic block type of UI. From this API the user could create custom functions easily and change the settings of timing, speed, altitude, location, etc. within the graphic blocks. The blocks could be organized in the order of execution then integrated with the RC transmitter channels/switches to initiate.

I'm not sure if this is available? Am I too far off the path in thinking for this?

Research direction

The issue does not name any files, tests, or entry points. Start by checking the Mission Planner repository for an existing user or operation API and related UI extension points, then clarify the intended scope with maintainers. Done would require an agreed API design, a defined graphical workflow, and documented integration with vehicle settings and RC controls.
