Description

On the "Install Firmware" page it shows the latest version available from MASTER branch i.e. code that runs on ARM32 boards and Linux boards. However, if a user plugs in an older APM2 8bit ARM board and uploads the firmware they don't get that version shown - they get the most recent APM version. So MP does upload the correct version that will work on the board however to the user it looks like they are getting a different newer version. I mention this as I'm getting a number of Rover users expecting v3.0.1 to be uploaded or assuming that has been uploaded but in reality they are use APMs so v2.51 has been uploaded.
So, could we either have a second version number shown under the vehicle icon that will be uploaded for APM boards or alternatively when the user clicks upload it tells them the board type and the version they are getting. Note I prefer the first option.
Happy to test :-)
Thanks, Grant.

Research direction

Start at the Install Firmware page and trace how the selected board determines the firmware version shown and uploaded. Confirm the display and upload flow for an older APM2 8-bit board; done when the UI clearly shows the board and version that will be uploaded, preferably before upload.
