### Bug Description

The functionality for changing emojis or icons is not working properly. When the "change icon" option is selected, the emoji pop-up appears very slowly, which hinders the ability to search for or scroll through available options.

### How to Reproduce

- change any file icon or pick emoji using `/emoji` the pop-up shows nothing until the mouse interacts with it
- scrolling through the emoji is unresponsive
- trying to search for an emoji is unresponsive

### Expected Behavior

Emoji selection and icon changing work properly when called or prompted.

### Operating System

Ubuntu Budgie 24.04.01 LTS x86_64
