More lexible metadata framework

Create a more flexible framework for metadata. Right now, vertex level metadata as described above is calculated because those were the explicit and immediate needs of the repo. However, a framework for flexible metadata addition is needed. This would allow further additions of user specified metadata at the vertex level (e.g. myelination) or cell level (e.g. soma location, # of tip nodes etc.).
