Description
The cortical coordinate system allows CCF-aligned cortical data to be projected along steepest descent pia->white matter paths to one of several 2D views, including a top view of the cortex as well as a fully flattened cortex (dorsal flatmap). We need API tools for downloading the published paths and views as well as functions (and examples of use) for carrying out the mapping on CCF-aligned data.

First steps
- Read the whole issue, then the project's contributing guide.
- Comment on the issue to say you are picking it up — it saves two people doing the same work.
- Fork the repository and make your change on a branch.
- Open a pull request that references the issue number.
Research direction
Start by reviewing the published cortical paths and views described in the issue, along with how CCF-aligned cortical data is represented. Define the API surface for downloading those resources and mapping data to the top view and dorsal flatmap, then provide examples demonstrating each mapping.
