Descrizione

Chu et al.[1] define diffusiophoresis as:
> "Deterministic motion of a colloidal-scale species can be induced by the concentration gradient of a surrounding solute. For charged colloids in electrolyte solutions, the concentration gradient of the electrolyte causes motion known as diffusiophoresis"

Diffusiophoresis is an active area of research; new models are amended or composed with other models to e.g. account for gravity [2]. The Decapodes framework excels in composition of novel physics. So having such a model has the potential to accelerate research into SOTA diffusiophoresis models.

Diffusiophoresis exemplifies what we mean by "multiphysics." I refer to the following quote from Chu et al.[1]:
> "Diffusiophoresis is an electrokinetic phenomenon, comprising a chemiphoretic component due to the osmotic pressure gradient developed along the colloid surface, and an electrophoretic component due to the junction potential generated by the diffusion of ions with different diffusivities."
