Research direction

Start by reproducing the post-edit failure with WordPress 6.1 and PHP 8.0, then inspect includes/compatibility.php around line 422 and includes/locations.php. Confirm the string offset error and identify the expected shape of $rule['param']; done means post-edit completes without the fatal error.
