Description

From https://jira.corp.adobe.com/browse/UGP-12644:

As a user I want to keep the current tab I am editing in VSCode within a >[!BEGINTABS] ... >[!TAB Whatever..] ... >![ENDTABS] markdown block to remain active in the Preview window, rather than immediately switch to the first tab with every edit I make.

This is extremely annoying and obstructs a proper authoring workflow for tab-based content.

Research direction

Reproduce the behavior in the VSCode Preview using a markdown block with multiple tabs while editing each tab. Trace the preview update path and determine where the active tab is reset; done means edits preserve the currently active tab instead of switching to the first tab.
