Domain Excluded from Badger Caught Adaway

Pardon my lack of knowing how blockers should work. While reviewing Privacy Badger settings, excluded URL included "hugedomains.com" Since I didn't add this , I checked it directly with my browser and got the faded red Adaway logo. I interpreted this as the correct behavior Adaway blocked the domain while Badger was always passing data. Should I search through the hosts files to verify? Having never received the faded logo page before, just checking.
