Description

The Potekhin and Chabrier (2010,2013) EOS is freely available (in Fortran) here:

http://www.ioffe.ru/astro/EIP/

This EOS seems to be preferred by MESA:

https://docs.mesastar.org/en/r15140/eos/overview.html

There is also support here for a magnetized plasma.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the Potekhin and Chabrier EOS source at http://www.ioffe.ru/astro/EIP/ and the MESA EOS overview linked in the issue. Then compare the available Fortran implementation with this repository's microphysics interfaces. Done means the EOS is integrated, with its supported magnetized-plasma behavior accounted for if in scope, and is usable through the project’s existing interfaces.
