Description

see https://github.com/AMReX-Codes/amrex/blob/development/Src/Base/AMReX_CompensatedSum.H

We might try to use this on summing the contributions to the dYdt terms in the reaction network. Previously we used esum, but that was too expensive.

Research direction

Start with AMReX_CompensatedSum.H at the linked AMReX path, then locate the reaction-network code that sums contributions to the dYdt terms and review how esum is used. Compare whether compensated summation can replace esum without its cost; done means documenting or demonstrating a suitable approach for these sums.
