Error registering specific keys

When trying to register some specific keys as the toggle, the program displays an error "Too many keys pressed, aborting". These keys include the common modifier keys (i.e. Control) or the Tilde key (which is my preferred key). Therefore the program is unusable in scenarios involving these keys.
