Description

The new sidebar is lovely, but it has an issue with positioning when a <summary> element is expanded. All except "Guide" are glitchy, when "Guide" is expanded while scrolled down the page, the entire table of contents teleports to the top of the webpage.

Steps to recreate
  1. Scroll halfway down a long page, such as this one.
  2. Expand "Guide" or another <summary> element.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue on the linked navigation documentation page: scroll halfway down, then expand the “Guide” and other

elements. Trace the sidebar positioning behavior from that page and confirm that expanding each element leaves the table of contents in the correct position without teleporting to the top.
