Description

Email is still a popular way for people to communicate both personally and for business. However it is also a way for bad people to try and steal information. A lot of people get emails every day but not all bad emails are the same. It is really important to know the difference between Spam and Phishing emails to keep your information safe.

Spam emails are messages that you did not ask for sent to a lot of people at the time. These emails are usually trying to sell you something tell you about a service. Get you to visit a website. While spam emails can be annoying and fill up your inbox they are not usually trying to steal your information.. If you get too much spam it can be hard to find the emails that you actually want to read and it can make it harder to get work done.

Phishing emails are different. They are people trying to trick you into giving them sensitive information like your password, financial information or personal details. These emails might look like they are from people you trust like your bank, the government or a known company. They might have links, fake login pages or bad attachments that can hurt your computer or account.

The big difference between [spam and phishing]([url](https://guardiandigital.com/resources/faq/difference-between-spam-phishing)) emails is what they are trying to do. Spam emails are mostly just trying to send out a lot of messages and advertise something while phishing emails are trying to trick you and get your information. While some spam emails might just be ads that you do not want to see phishing emails can cause you to lose money have your identity stolen or have your information leaked.

Companies can protect themselves from these threats by using email filters making sure people have to prove who they are in ways teaching employees about email safety and telling users to be careful with suspicious emails. If people know what to look for like requests urgent language, spelling mistakes and email addresses they do not know they can help prevent bad things from happening.
**Conclusion**
Both spam and phishing emails are problems for companies today. Phishing emails are much worse because they are trying to trick you and can cause a lot of harm. Knowing the difference between these two types of emails is the step to protecting yourself. If companies use security measures and teach people how to be safe online they can greatly reduce the risk of being a victim of cyber threats. Email remains a way for people to communicate and it is really important to know how to use Email safely. By understanding the difference, between Spam and Phishing emails people can better protect their Email accounts. Keep their information safe.
